The body as Trace
This ongoing body of work explores the body as a site of transformation, vulnerability and disappearance. Moving between painting, monotype and mixed media, I work with fragile materials such as paper, burlap, fabric, ink and pigment, allowing tearing, absorption, layering and erosion to become part of the image.
Figures emerge, dissolve and reappear through fragments, traces and reconstructed forms. Through material instability and repetition, the works investigate how memory, loss and lived experience become embedded in the body and its traces.
